In this project we were working with a heritage building and existing stairs. The challenge was that every stair was different. Terrazzo Stair treads were precast to match the insitu terrazzo flooring, that we on the landings. The end result is exquisite.

The restoration of the iconic 1912 Imperial Baroque building was a massive collaborative effort by Cooper and Company, Cheshire Architects, and Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga. It is the only Heritage building in New Zealand to receive 6 green stars.

  • Green Star & WELL: Alongside the 6 Green Star Design/Build certification, the project targeted a WELL Gold rating for optimizing occupant health and wellbeing.

  • Waste & Materials: Over 80% of construction waste was successfully diverted from landfills, utilizing low-emissions and certified sustainable materials throughout the interior refurbishments.
